The Best Of
James and Dave's Bible Page
Classic Bible studies, Christian teaching, and Spirit-filled encouragement. For over 20 years, James and Dave’s Bible Page has been dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the truth of God’s Word, and the joy of the Spirit-filled life. Originally published in the late 1990s on GeoCities at www.geocities.com/Heartland/Woods/8255 and www.geocities.com/rhema6, these teachings were part of an early online Bible ministry reaching readers around the world long before modern social media. Although the full site was retired in 2019, the mission goes on through this curated archive of Bible studies on salvation, Christian living, theology, the church, healing, the Holy Spirit, and culture.

About James
Born June 20, 1967, James describes himself as “a very ordinary person, transformed by the grace of a very extraordinary God.” He was saved in August of 1983 after being confronted with the words of Jesus in John 3:7, “Ye must be Born Again.” His life was further transformed five years later when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and he has been involved in the Pentecostal and Charismatic movement ever since.
Initially ordained as a minister with the Word of Faith Ministerial Association, James served for eight years as dean of Word of Faith Bible Training Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He now attends Trinity Community Church, also in Knoxville. James holds a Bachelors in Communication from The University of Tennessee and is a graduate of Trinity Ministry Apprenticeship Program. He and his wife, Sandi, have three children and two grandchildren.
About Dave
Dave was born on September 10, 1971. A decorated Navy veteran, he describes his greatest life experiences as “Accepting Jesus, getting married and helping bring some amount of peace to Bosnia-Hercegovina.” He was born again on Sept. 3, 1995 during that stint in Bosnia, which he describes as a “foxhole conversion that actually took.” He was then filled with the Holy Ghost one week later, at 1:30 a.m. on his birthday.
Dave is a graduate of both World Changers Bible Institute and The University of Tennessee, from which he holds a Bachelors degree in History. He enjoys teaching about a wide variety of Bible topics, but his specialty is prophecy-related study. Dave is now also a part of Trinity Community Church. His hobbies include gun collecting and Civil War history. He and his wife Julia have been married since 2007.
The Story Behind the Site
In the late 1990s, longtime friends James H. Boyd and David Pope began publishing Bible study articles through an email list serve. Eventually, that led to the launch of James and Dave’s Bible Page on the old GeoCities server. As the images below show, the site was very reflective of both its time and its owners’ very limited web skills. What began with simple pages at www.geocities.com/Heartland/Woods/8255 and www.geocities.com/rhema6 eventually grew into a much larger teaching archive that reached thousands of readers worldwide.
Version 1
I started here in 1998 with practically no idea what I was doing. I know, “Despise not small beginnings,” but be forewarned that the color scheme here is pretty hideous.
From there, the site grew to feature over 50 Bible articles, a massive links directory, a chat room, and two web rings. We were blessed to receive thousands of visits from all around the world. Of course, the site’s primary focus was our collection of Bible study articles, which we are happy to present in archive form.
